AI May be Increasing the Value of Specialist Recruiters in Digital Infrastructure

One consistent theme we continue hearing from clients across data centers, power, and digital infrastructure is that AI has dramatically increased the volume of applications, but not necessarily the quality or differentiation between candidates.
Candidates can now apply to hundreds of opportunities within a short period of time while ultimately accepting only one role. At the same time, resumes, outreach emails, and even interview responses are increasingly starting to sound similar as more candidates rely on the same AI tools and prompts. The result is significantly more noise in the hiring process.
Ironically, the candidates standing out most are often the ones with original thinking, commercially grounded judgment, credible delivery track records, and real-world execution experience. In many cases, these individuals are not actively applying for jobs at all.
They are already leading hyperscale developments, scaling power infrastructure, managing operations, or delivering large infrastructure projects under demanding timelines. When they disconnect from work, they are not spending hours applying online. Most speak with only a small number of search consultants they trust.
The same is often true on the client side. Companies typically work closely with advisors who understand the market, can properly assess technical and operational credibility, and have already built relationships with hard-to-access talent pools.
Technology will continue changing recruitment workflows and improving efficiency. But in highly specialized sectors like digital infrastructure and energy, relationships, judgment, credibility, and market knowledge remain highly valuable.
Demand for experienced infrastructure talent continues to be extremely strong across the market. If you are looking to secure capable and sought-after talent that aligns with your business needs while eliminating much of the noise in the hiring process, we would be pleased to help.
